Bread, whole grain, and my passion for recipe development!

Welcome to Our Sunday Café, we are pleased you stopped by for a visit. Today we are offering another delicious recipe from our kitchen. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did… idea and update!

The priority in my kitchen right now has been bread! Whole grain, with added seeds, nuts, and mixed grains. My own version of Dave's Killer Bread, if you will. I love love love Dave's Killer Bread, but here on the peninsula, it is about $5.00 a loaf. And while I appreciate, respect and agree that wholesome bread is worth the price, as a baker I wanted to make my own.

This bread takes 2 1/2 days to make because it starts out with a 48-hour soak. From there mixing, kneading and 3 rising times before baking. It is not a quick recipe, but it has provided not only physical nutrition but mental nutrition as well. Which is just as important. Here are a few photos, and I hope to share the recipe soon for those that would like to give it a try.

This is a 4 loaf recipe, for this batch I made some mini loaves, which we cut in a particular way to have a "hot dog bun", this was needed because we are off to go camping! If you prefer a smaller loaf of bread, this batch would also make 5 nice sized loaves, some for you and some to share...
