Big Batch Cranberry Liqueur

Welcome to Our Sunday Café, we are pleased you stopped by for a visit. Today we are offering another delicious recipe from our kitchen. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did…

I have made Cranberry Liqueur before and it is wonderful. So good, in fact, it seemed like a good idea to make a big batch version, so here goes......this makes plenty. Some for you and some to share.

adapted from:  this original post

2 c water
3 c sugar
2 oranges
2 10oz bags of cranberries
1 fifth vodka

Bring water to a boil, add sugar. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Zest the orange rind, squeeze the juice.

Chop the cranberries.

Combine, orange zest, juice, chopped cranberries, and the syrup. Stir well, add vodka, stir again.

Place in a large glass jar. Stir every day for 3 weeks.

Strain through a fine-mesh strainer, but retain the spent cranberry mixture, it is delicious to use in recipes.

Decant the liqueur into a bottle, you are ready to serve to family and friends.
