This and that from far and wide, January 2016

Hello, we hope your week is going great on this first day in January. Take a look at what friends and other blogger are cooking up currently or have enjoyed in the past. So much information and recipes from current and older posts on just about every blog, today I am sharing these.....

Whole grain breads and rolls are on our list as preferred foods, these are on the must try list. I have enjoyed whole grain baking more with freshly milled flours. These are perfect to round out any meal, even breakfast when presented with butter and a selection of jams.

Blondies are a favorite bar cookie, since they are easy and delicious. I plan on trying these with walnuts in place of the chocolate chips. I love chocolate, but there is something about the brown sugar and walnut combination that calls out to me.

Salt and sesame seeds have been natural flavor partners for many years. I have purchased Gomashio seasoning salt and enjoyed a homemade version in past years. It is wonderful on vegetables and brown rice.

Pulled Ham was a new dish for me, but coming from a wonderful cook, one to try. This is perfect for large gatherings as well as, ease of serving. Ham Sliders on homemade rolls is a perfect way enjoy this.

    happy new year!

  2. Happy New Year, my friend! And thanks for the shout out. I made pulled ham again for Christmas--so, so easy and tasty. Right now, I have some of it cooking along with my black-eyed peas. I hope to be back to blogging again soon. xoxo, Rocquie
