Cream Cheese Black Olive and Walnut Spread.

Welcome to the blitz, at Our Sunday Cafe!

Every day we will offer something special, for you to enjoy, right up to Christmas Eve!

Many of these will be new recipes, and some will be reminders from the past. Some are our favorite recipes that happen to be too delicious to leave hidden in the archives.

So it’s full steam ahead to sharing a great recipe for you to enjoy every day during these very busy days of December……this season, eat well, be happy and celebrate with those you love!

As part of our December 2019 blitz at OurSundayCafe.

This one is from my childhood. I remember holding the little hand mixer for my mom as she sliced olives and chopped walnuts for this festive spread. She would place the cream cheese into a bowl, add the mayo and then I would be asked to take over while she prepared the other ingredients. My pay if you will for helping was to get to lick the beaters!

There would be celery stuffed with this delightful spread, and truth be told, we would like the stuffing out of the celery after the first piece, because, well we were kids and really only wanted the cream cheese mixture. But now as an adult, I can simply eat it off a spoon, if I want....
There was never an actual recipe, but this is how we did it, feel free to double the ingredients if you are making this for a larger crowd.

Cream Cheese Black Olive and Walnut Spread, part of our December blitz at OurSundayCafe.

2 T mayonnaise
1/3 c sliced or chopped black olives
1/3 c broken pieces of walnuts

Beat the cream cheese and mayonnaise together, fold in the sliced olives and walnut pieces. Place in a serving bowl, and decorate the top with more olives and walnut pieces if desired.
