Truffle Oil Infused Mustard

Welcome to the blitz, at Our Sunday Cafe!

Every day we will offer something special, for you to enjoy, right up to Christmas Eve!

Many of these will be new recipes, and some will be reminders from the past. Some are our favorite recipes that happen to be too delicious to leave hidden in the archives.

So it’s full steam ahead to sharing a great recipe for you to enjoy every day during these very busy days of December……this season, eat well, be happy and celebrate with those you love!

As part of our December 2019 blitz at OurSundayCafe.

This is the third recipe that I harvested from the archives. It was such a hit on sandwiches that I created this delicious Apricot Chicken recipe. Mustard combined with fruit is delicious, and we really enjoyed the flavors in this dish. As we continued to use the mustard, it became a staple ingredient in our refrigerator, ready to be enjoyed one sandwich at a time.

I use to take jars of this to my favorite Tennant in my Senior Housing building, during my Administrator years. I would stand at his door, knock and wait for it to open. Without saying a word, I would slowly raise my hand holding the jar of mustard and see the smile spread over his face.

Mr. Wesson always replied the same way, each time I took a food gift to his apartment, before reporting to work, "Oh my gosh, thank you Honey!" and always my reply was, "your welcome, Mr. Wesson!" and then he would he closed the door. I still think of Mr. Wesson, each time I make this mustard.

by the seat of my pants!

1 c spicy brown mustard (but not hot, you want mild mustard for this recipe)
1 T dijon mustard
1 T yellow ballpark mustard - don't leave this out.......
2 T Truffle Oil

Stir together.

Trust me you will use this on each and every sandwich you make, and by the way, pretzels are delicious dipped into this stuff!

  1. Another easy idea that sounds like a winner. We love mustard in this house. I love the story about Mr. Wesson.

    1. Thank you, Mr. Wesson is quite a guy! I hope you enjoy the mustard as much as we (all!) did.
