Whole Wheat Cream Cheese Banana Bread!
And so it begins, all my (and yours too!) converted to whole wheat, easy and delicious! I wanted to start with this really delicious cream cheese banana bread. When I made it the first time we all loved it, and this new rendition is just as good.
I do ask your forgiveness, regarding how wonderful these recipes taste, with only one usable hand ( thankfully my right one!) how little I will be able to tap out in order to share the joy of their true and honest deliciousness!
I am grateful that my husband has been such a good sport in taking on the duty of cooks helper, dishwasher and all-around hardworking helper where ever he was needed.
But trust me, this is good banana bread!
Ps, you may, of course, bake the loaves plain, also. I like the walnut crown and my cook's helper loves the chocolate chip version...

Whole Wheat Cream Cheese Banana Bread

1 c sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
1 8oz block of cream cheese, cut into small squares
1/4 c oil
3 medium (or 2 large) sweet ripe bananas, mashed
2 1/2 c whole wheat self-rising flour, you may find our recipe here.
3/4 c chocolate chips, if desired
1/2 c coarsely chopped walnuts, if desired
In a medium-sized bowl, cream together the sugar, brown sugar and cream cheese. Beat on medium speed until fluffy, with no chunks of cream cheese remaining.
Beat in oil and eggs, then bananas. slowly mix in the whole wheat self-rising flour.
Spoon half of the batter into a prepared loaf pan, top with walnut pieces.
Stir the chocolate chips into the batter remaining in the mixing bowl, then spoon the chocolate chip batter into a prepared loaf pan.
Bake 35 - 40 minutes or until done in your oven. Let rest in the pans 10 minutes before turning out to cool.
