Cranberry Everthing!

Welcome to the blitz, at Our Sunday Cafe!

Every day we will offer something special, for you to enjoy, right up to Christmas Eve!

Many of these will be new recipes, and some will be reminders from the past. Some are our favorite recipes that happen to be too delicious to leave hidden in the archives.

So it’s full steam ahead to sharing a great recipe for you to enjoy every day during these very busy days of December……this season, eat well, be happy and celebrate with those you love!

I chose cranberries for another blitz of delicious recipes because I fell in love with the vibrant flavor during our time living on the Washington Long Beach peninsula. It was very interesting to see the bogs come alive with activity during the harvest.

The harvest is fast-paced and over quickly. The bogs are flooded, the fruit is dislodged from the plants and floats to the top of the water. A floating corral is used to bring the fruit to the edge of the bog where a conveyer belt deposits the fruit into a truck to be taken for processing.

Cranberry Cherry Sauce, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Cranberry Cherry Sauce. Cranberries, dried cherries, orange rind and a jigger of gin. This is a delicious cranberry sauce. It has graced our table more than once...

Cranberry Honey Dijon Mustard, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Cranberry Honey Dijon Mustard. This delicious mustard starts with Dijon from the market, then the magic happens when you add dried cranberries and some honey. This makes a perfect gift for anyone that is a mustard fan and of course, it goes perfect with turkey and ham on sandwiches.

Blackberry Cranberry Pink Grapefruit Preserves, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Blackberry Cranberry Pink Grapefruit Preserves. When I made this I made this, I knew it would be one of those preserves that must be made each year, it is that good. It not overly sweet and can also be used as a sauce with roasted meats.

Brandied Cranberry White Chocolate Quick Bread, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Brandied Cranberry White Chocolate Quick Bread.  There is not a lot I can say about this bread, because honestly how could it not be absolutely delicious with brandied cranberries and white chocolate? Just. Make. This. And. Enjoy!

Pear and Cranberry Crumble, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Pear and Cranberry Crumble. This is a wonderful pantry special dessert. Made with canned pears and dried cranberries it seems quite plain, but it is anything but. I hope you make this and enjoy it as much as we did.

Tangy Cranberry Thyme Vinaigrette, party of our December blitz of recipes!

Tangy Cranberry with Thyme Vinegarette. Dried cranberries are one of the best ingredients to have in your kitchen! Nothing adds a zing to food like cranberries. This vinaigrette is beautiful in color and delicious in flavor! It is a natural with feta on any bowl of tossed greens.

Sweet and Savory Stuffed Cabbage Rolls, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Sweet and Savory Stuffed Cabbage Rolls.  This recipe was found in an article about the ugly stuffed vegetables of Isreal. I was surprised with the addition of fresh (I used frozen) cranberries but I must tell you the cranberries add a depth of flavor that is perfect with the cabbage and beef. Don't shy away from this wonderful dish of stuffed cabbage.

Red Beet Salad with Cranberry Maple Vinaigrette, part of our December blitz of recipes!

Red Beet Salad with Cranberry Maple Vinaigrette.  If you have never made a raw beet salad I hope you give this one a try. The cranberry maple vinaigrette is so good...

I hope you have found something new to enjoy!
